Roy: ‘Na een eerste (mislukte) poging tot het bewerken van de roman ‘The Man who was Thursday’ tot een beeldverhaal, ben ik zo’n anderhalf jaar geleden opnieuw begonnen. Naast het werken aan nieuwe pagina’s is het daarnaast noodzakelijk om ook een aantal oude pagina’s te hertekenen (m.b.v. een raster) om zo stijlbreuk te vermijden en evt. verbeteringen aan te brengen. Op deze tekening is hoofdpersoon Gabriel Syme in zijn jeugd getuige van een bomaanslag gepleegd dor anarchisten. Boven zie je de oude versie, en onderaan de nieuwe’.

Brief introduction to "The Man Who Was Thursday

The seven members of the Central Anarchist Council are named after the seven days of the week. The young poet Gabriel Syme manages to infiltrate their midst as Thursday, and thus begins a frenzied nightmare full of paradoxes and surprises.
